New Intel 4th Generation 22nm Core i socket 1150 processor for desktop and embedded computer

•The first system on chip for PCs and the foundation of a new breed of mobiles devices
•Increase efficiency with less power consumption, the best ever generation-over-generation development
•Delivers up to 2 times the graphics performance of previous generation with Intel Iris™ graphics

Embedded Computing Industry: Recently Intel Corporation introduced its brand new 4th generation Intel Core processors a.k.a. Haswell. These new processors are based on Intel’s 22nm process technology, a new technology focuses on improving the performance of the mobile devices while lowering power consumption. It allows system manufacturer to develop products with slimmer, lighter, and fanless designs without impacting the performance. This new technology platform is ideal for retail, industrial, medical, gaming, military/aerospace/government and energy industries that constantly demand high performance, low power intelligent systems.

"4th generation Intel Core processors offer the most significant gain in battery life enabling ever achieved by Intel, up to double the graphics and significant CPU performance improvements that are delivering exciting new consumer experiences," said Kirk Skaugen, Intel senior vice president and PC Client Group general manager.

In addition to existing form factors and chassis, the new 4th generation processors feature improved CPU performance, extraordinary battery life capability and breakthrough graphics:

Performance
Better Performance
The 4th generation Intel Core processors offer up to 15 percent greater performance than the previous generation while using less power. Applications and games launch approximately two times faster; systems can wake up in 3 seconds from hibernation which is about eight times faster and are approximately 20 times faster in editing and sharing HD videos; than a similar 4-year-old computer, Intel claims. Users will be able to enjoy a “Less Waiting, More Doing” every day computing experience.

Battery
Lower Power
The 4th generation processors deliver up to 50 percent better battery life in active work situations compared with the 3rd generation processors, the largest generational improvement in battery life in Intel’s history. Intel worked on reducing the power consumption at the CPU level to as low as 6 watts. While laptops utilizing previous generation processors might have delivered six hours of battery life, the 4th generation will offer up to over 9 hours of active use battery life or 10 to 13 days of standby, Intel claims. With much more focus on power savings in the 4th generation processors, on-the-go users can enjoy extended mobile devices battery life without having to worry about battery charge.

Graphic
Stunning Visuals

Some chips in the range will also feature the new Iris and Iris Pro integrated graphics of Intel which can easily offer better performance than its previous generation. The integrated graphics in the 4th generation Core platform are twice as powerful as the 3rd generation processors, ideal for highly visual retail and digital signage solutions.  The improved ability to decode and transcnode simultaneous video streams and higher-than-1080P 2K and 4K HD allow end users to enjoy smoother and higher quality visual playback from HD to 3D. The 4th generation processors enable a compelling visual experience to users without the need for a discrete graphics card.
