REFERENCE What is DIN-Rail Mounting? A DIN rail is a long metal rail used for mounting electrical and industrial control equipment, such as power supplies, circuit breakers, or terminal blocks, inside a rack cabinet or housing. DIN stands for Deutsche Institut für Normung in German and in English, it translates to the German Institute of Standards. There are three types of DIN Rail; Top Hat Section, C Section, and G Section. The top hat section measures 35mm wide and are commonly used for mounting electrical and industrial control equipment, such as circuit breakers. The C section measures 32mm wide and are used for mounting heavier equipment, such as power supplies or transformer. The G section features a deeper recess on one side and offer support for heavier equipment.
