What's Inside

The Housing:   At only 17.7” in depth, this 2U chassis, made of heavy-duty, cold-rolled steel, is one of the shortest on the market and is ideal for 18-inch deep portable racks. It has a lockable front door to protect exposed drives. Front panel controls include on/off switch, system reset, one PS/2, two USB ports, one serial port and one parallel port as well as LEDS to monitor power and hard drive. There is also room in the back for an additional serial port. Two 8cm ball-bearing fans moving more than 80cfm of air drives the internal cooling system. Power is provided by a slim 300W power supply. The single board computer and passive backplane setup provides five expansion slots, more than most 2U systems. Color: Black. Storage Devices:   Drive capacity includes regular 5.25”, slim 5.25” 3.5” exposed and 3.5” hidden bays. If more hard drives are required, sacrificing the regular 5.25” open bay yields two more hidden 3.5” bays. Standard configuration includes a 24X slim CD-ROM and an internal 40GB hard drive. CD/DVD reader/writers and larger hard drives are available. System Board:  PICMG standard single board computer with onboard audio, video and 10/100BT Ethernet. Standard I/Os include 1 PS/2 (Y cable provided for keyboard and mouse), 1 serial, 1 parallel, 2 USB 2.0, 1 RJ-45, 15-pin VGA and line-in, speaker-out and microphone jacks.
